016 - Red deer antler coronet "walker" head on a short partially-stripped ash shank . This is a slim but very sturdy stick. The antler head is quite substantial and, the tine being almost perpendicular to the shank, suited to use for walking or as a mobility aid. A rich, dark red-brown Karanda wood is used to marry the head to the shank and to tip the handle. A gold coloured (oh, all right, brass!) image of a leaping stag is embedded in clear casting resin on the coronet. The shank is partially stripped back to bare wood, dappled with patches of under-bark, giving a sort of "camouflage" effect. SOLD |
