017 - One-piece hazel "walker". Medium length.
This one is shaped in one piece from a hazel stem and the branch it was growing
from. It's very light in weight but also very strong. The slim handle fits the
hand beautifully and has that silky feel to it. Would make an excellent walker
or mobility aid. The bark on the shank is rather unusual in that one side is
silvery and the other is a reddish-brown colour. Although both colours are
common in hazel, you don't usually see them side-by-side on the same stick.
