075 - An elegant little hazel cane topped with a brass knob.
The knob is an old brass doorknob "wombled" from a junk stall at a steam fair. I filled it with epoxy filler to make it a bit more resistant to the odd knock or two.
The shank is a slim hazel stem and the spacer/collar is made from stag antler.
Maximum overall length 34.5 inches (86 cm). Diameter at top of shank about 5/8 inches (16 mm). This stick is quite strong for its size but would not provide full support for the heavier person.
At the time of writing (10 September 2002) it's not quite ready to go. I'm waiting for the lacquer needed to keep the brass from tarnishing and prevent it leaving black marks on your hands.
