This one is well-patinated and obviously has considerable age. The unprotected tip had suffered some serious wear; so in order to make it usable, protect it from further damage and restore it to something like its original length, I made and fitted a new tip of black buffalo horn with a short piece of stainless steel rod through the middle for durability.

Note that this stick is, like Charlie's, quite flexible, so it won't provide any real support for the user. But it's just fine as a fashion accessory, or for fending off stray dogs (and geese), or, indeed, for doing Charlie Chaplin impressions.
